The Greatest Gift

Image
Following Jesus isn't about being perfect, it's about realizing how perfect He is. He in His perfection, took upon Himself the wrath that was designated for us by the Father because of our sinful imperfection. This my friends, is the greatest gift to ever be offered us - the chance to not have to bear the much deserved wrath of God. But not everyone will receive this great gift. Many will reject the Word, the LORD. Some will say they have received this gift, yet they deceive themselves and others, because they live no different than the world and teach others to do the same. T hose who are impostors in the church (the lukewarm, the wolves, the false teachers/prophets) are no different than t hose who are truly sons of this world (that is the lost, pagan, wicked, secular). Do not be like the invited guest who did not bring wedding clothes, or the one who claims to know Christ, but is not known by Christ. (Matthew 22:1-14; Matthew 7:23) I would encourage each of you this week ...

Beware of Idols

Image
What influences your words,  emotions, actions, and  response to things that are evil, wicked, dangerous, etc? Is it that which is of man or is it the LORD? Do you warn to save bodies or to save souls? Are you more focused on preventing the inevitable death of your body of flesh, or are you more focused on your eternal body? Choose wisely, because more is at stake than having a healthy body. We so readily shout out the warning if something will hurt our bodies, our physical freedoms, our way of life....But how many are shouting out the warning that many are in danger of eternal torment in Hell? Many focus on their fleshly health, but forget that they are in danger of condemnation because their hearts do not belong to the Lord. Many are in danger of the wrath of the LORD! It is not physical dangers we must obsess over, but the very REAL danger of many taking the wide road to Hell out of rebellion against God. Cry out repent! Get off that road of deception and love for this wo...

Love the LORD

Image
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22:37-39 We hear so often that God is love in today's church and culture. We also hear that we are to love one another. But how often do we hear the message that we are to love God? I have to admit that I do not honestly think I have heard a preacher or a sermon or anything talk about how  we  are to love  God,  it's always love your neighbor because God is love. Jesus tells us Himself that we are to  first  love the Lord our God, and that if we love Him, we will obey His commands. (John 14:15)  So why has today's church and culture decided to bypass that first and most essential tenant of our faith, and instead skipped to the "love thy neighbor" and "God is love" part?  Yes, God is love, but we are to love Him in return with all ...

A Prayer & A Song

Image
I am not perfect, but my soul and all that I am is Yours, Father. My voice is weak and broken, guilty of profaning and speaking harsh words. Yet, with my voice I scream out praises to Your Name. Even in silence, my soul sings unending worship to Your Name, Jesus. On the earth, I am dirty, broken, and defiled.  But, Your precious blood covers me! When I go to stand before the Father, You Jesus, will stand before me on my behalf. When the Father sees You, He sees pureness, holiness, and righteousness. Your blood cleanses me and makes me as white as snow. Thank you LORD! I give all praise, worship, honor, and glory to the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY! Who Was, Who Is, and Who Is to Come, YHWH, The Great I AM! Thank You my King, My Rock, My Fortress, My Shepherd......Jesus.

The Fear of the Lord

Image
"For I AM a great King," s ays the LORD of Hosts,  "And My Name is to be feared among the nations."   - Malachi 1:14 The church has lost her fear of the Lord. The Lord's holiness and righteousness is no longer being taught nor is it being lived out in the daily lives of Christians as a whole. That is dangerous. In the book of Malachi (all four chapters), we see where the Lord calls out the priests of that time.  He says that they are cheats, swindlers, and liars, guilty of bloodshed, violence, unlawful divorces, and worst of all....complaining of their priestly duties and services to the Lord. He calls them out because they vainly go about their duties and offerings, yet their hearts are far from God. In fact He says that the priests are weary  of serving the Lord. (Malachi 1:13) The Lord has nothing praiseworthy to say of the priests, which is incredibly sad. How did the priests of the Lord's temple reach such depths of immorality and moral lacking? If you ...

Being the Family of God

Image
Who is the family the of God? Are you a part of His family? Let's look at Luke 8:19 - 9:62 , for it shows us what the family of God looks like. Yes, there are many many  other passages that show us this, but as I was reading this passage, I felt led to just focus on it. Maybe it was for you? Maybe myself....But I hope that this look into Scripture will bless you.  Who is the family of God? 1. "Those who hear God's Word and put it into practice." (8:21) Those who deny the world and give everything to God in both heart, mind, body, and soul. (9:25)     Any one of us can read the Bible, listen to a sermon, or pray. But do we hear  God's Word and do we live it? Does our life look different outside of the church building (or online group) than it does when in it? If there is a difference, it's time to seek the Lord and to repent of those things which are not of Him.     Do you agree that there should be no cussing or profanity in the church? Yet, how many o...

Prophet or Wolf?

Image
A friend of mine asked recently about how we can tell the difference between true prophets and those who are deceivers. Many people in the Body of Christ have been learning in recent months that for obvious reasons, all those who kept prophesying a certain political leader's success in November, were proven false. This is a recent example, but there are examples all across the board of people saying " X will happen at X time by X person.....thus saith the Lord." And as a result, many of those who had a weaker faith, were struggling spiritually, or were looking to those as shepherds and leaders, became bitterly disappointed and left their faith in the proverbial trash can.   So here is my response to that. I am no wise-woman, only a servant of the Lord who desires strongly to bring people closer to Him. My heart grieves every time I see these wolves-in-sheep-clothing and the incredibly deceived, lead people to their spiritual death. My heart grieves! The Church has forgott...
